The history of the modern SL-Class dates back to the 1950s and the iconic 300SL Gullwing. Along with BMW’s 325i, the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class became an automotive fixture for “yuppies.” The SL’s retractable hardtop allows drivers to enjoy open-air driving without sacrificing the look and noise reduction of a coupe. Redesigned for 2009, the SL-Class receives a more aggressive look that includes a sportier front fascia and headlights that give an aggressive look. The SL 65 AMG ups the ante with sport-tuned suspension and brakes, unique aerodynamic exterior modifications and a whopping 604 horsepower under the hood. The SL-Class comes with a four-year/50,000-mile warranty and gets an estimated 18-21 mpg on the highway.
