First real entry by Toyota for the full-size truck market came in 1999 to give some much needed import rivalry to the pickup truck market. Replacing the unsuccessful T-100, the Tundra was still smaller than full size offerings from GM, Ford and Dodge but its popularity started to bite into their sales. The Tundra was redesigned in 2007 and grew in size to directly compete against the Silverado, the F-Series and the Ram. With a 381-horsepower V-8 and 10,300-pound towing capacity, the Tundra is ready for almost any job. The Toyota Tundra comes with a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty and gets an estimated 16-19 mpg on the highway.
