2008 Ford Explorer | New Explorer

First released in 1990, the Ford Explorer is one of the original vehicles to help start the SUV craze. After the Firestone debacle, Ford attempted to improve the Explorer’s image with a complete redesign in 2002. In addition growing considerably in size, the Explorer now featured an independent rear suspension system for the first time. For the 2006 model year, the Explorer was again redesigned to differentiate it from the Expedition and Freestyle. The Ford Explorer comes with a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty and gets an estimated 19-20 mpg on the highway.
