2009 Cadillac XLR and XLR-V

The 2009 Cadillac XLR is a premium full-size convertible that offers eye-catching style along with excellent performance. Resembling nothing else on the road, the two-seat roadster’s angular body work is meant to grab the attention of other motorists and passersby, and its power folding hardtop means that it can be driven year-round with equal practicality. The 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe is the company’s flagship large mid-size SUV. 2009 Mitsubishi Galant

The 2009 Mitsubishi Galant dares to be different in terms of exterior styling, avoiding the rounded and largely anonymous look of class leaders like the Toyota Camry and instead appealing to buyers more interested in a little visual panache. The Galant is a fairly spacious automobile that does a good job of accommodating four adult passengers on long trips, with room for a fifth available for shorter trips. The entry-level Galant includes air conditioning, power windows and door locks and a CD player on its equipment list, while higher trim levels see the introduction of leather seats, automatic climate control, a sunroof and nicer 18-inch alloy wheels.

Leading the list of power plants for the 2009 Mitsubishi Galant is a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder unit that produces 160 horsepower and 157 lb-ft of torque. Fuel mileage for this engine comes in at 20 miles per gallon in stop and go driving and 27 miles per gallon during highway cruising. For improved acceleration, buyers can opt for a 230 horsepower, 3.8-liter V-6 engine that also offers 250 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy drops significantly for this unit when compared to the 4-cylinder, as the V-6 displays only 16 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway. Special Ralliart sport editions of the Galant feature a hotter version of the same 3.8-liter mill that increases power production to 258 ponies and 258 lb-ft of torque, while returning the same fuel economy. A 4-speed automatic transmission comes with the 4-cylinder, while each V-6 is mated to a 5-speed automatic.

2009 Nissan Titan

The 2009 Nissan Titan is the Japanese car company’s entry into the hotly contested full-size pickup truck war that is raging across the United States. The Titan is the real deal, a large truck that offers impressive power and a good amount of towing and hauling capability when compared to other options on the market. There are a huge number of options packages and trim level combinations available on the Titan, enabling buyers to equip it either as a standard work truck, a comfortable daily driver or even a full-on off-road warrior. The vehicle can be ordered in either King or Crew Cab (read four-door), as well as short and long cargo beds. The four-wheel drive only Titan Pro-4X throws in an electronically locking rear differential, skid plates, special lower gearing and hardcore suspension tuning to help make short work of trail-related obstacles.

The 2009 Nissan Titan’s powertrain options are a bit simpler. A single V-8 engine is offered, one which displaces 5.6-liters and offers 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque. 2009 Subaru Tribeca

The 2009 Subaru Tribeca is a mid-size crossover positioned as a great family hauler for either long highway road trips or simple excursions to the local soccer field and back. The Tribeca can be ordered to handle either five or seven passengers, and cloth seats, dual climate controls, cruise control and power windows, door locks and heated mirrors are all standard. The 2009 Tribeca of course is equipped with Subaru’s full-time all-wheel drive system. It also features a 3.6-liter V-6 engine under the hood, one which develops 256 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque on the way to providing fuel economy numbers of 16 miles per gallon in the city and 21 miles per gallon on the highway. A 5-speed automatic gearbox is the only available transmission, although manual shift controls are offered for buyers with an interest in a more sporty driving experience.
