2009 BMW 650i

The 2009 BMW 650i coupe is the German car company’s large GT coupe (a convertible is also available). Designed to mix luxury and sporty driving in an full-size, attractive package, the 650i bears a menacing, shark-like appearance that harkens back to the original 6-Series coupe that made its debut in the 1970’s. Of course, the modern version features far more features and electronic gizmos than could be found in the BMW 6 Series of yore. Parking assistance, a heads-up display that projects vital vehicle information onto the 650i’s windshield and even night vision are some of the technologies that join more traditional options such as leather seats, a cold weather package and dual zone climate control.

The BMW 650i also provides excellent power and good handling for a vehicle of its size. Although weight is still a factor, the 650i is so well designed that it corners like a vehicle half its size. 2009 Buick Lucerne

The 2009 Buick Lucerne is a full-size luxury sedan that is designed to catch more traditional buyers in this segment by surprise. Mixing a front-wheel drive platform with a suspension that manages to be both cushy and reasonably responsive, the Lucerne is in many ways destined to change how drivers think about the Buick brand. Capable of generating 288 lb-ft of torque, this mill’s fuel economy drops slightly when compared to the V6 – 15 miles per gallon in stop and go driving and 22 miles per gallon on the highway. 4-speed automatic transmissions are the only gearbox options for either engine.

2009 Chevrolet Traverse

The 2009 Chevrolet Traverse is a large crossover sport-utility vehicle that is meant to steal a sizable portion of drivers away from the traditional, truck-based vehicles which have traditionally dominated this area of the market. With a focus on cargo storage and comfortable passenger accommodations, the Traverse is a vehicle that is much more compliant to drive than anything riding on a full frame. A 6-speed automatic gearbox handles the shifting duties for both the front-wheel and all-wheel drive editions of the Traverse.

2009 Dodge Durango

The 2009 Dodge Durango is Chrysler’s largest sport-utility vehicle, one which is designed to compete against the muscular options available from the other two domestic automakers. A 4-speed automatic transmission is matched to the V6, while each V8 sees a 5-speed auto. All-wheel drive is standard on the Hybrid, and all other editions of the Durango can choose between two-wheel and four-wheel drive.

2009 Jeep Liberty

The 2009 Jeep Liberty is a small SUV that doesn’t sacrifice off-road capabilities despite its diminutive stature.
