Volkswagen-owned Audi began selling cars in the United States in 1970 and maintains its reputation as a sports touring line. Among the top brands in automotive racing history, Audi performance and safety technology frequently trickles down from the raceway to the driveway. Across the lineup, all Audis can be equipped with the company's race-bred quattro® all-wheel-drive system. The TT was at the front line of the small roadster craze in the mid-1990s, while the mid-engine R8 supercar continues to garner praise for its performance and design. In an effort to increase sales and offer a wider range of vehicles, Audi has recently expanded its lineup by adding three models (A3, A5 and Q5) with more additions under consideration.
