Nissan Motors began selling vehicles in the United States in 1958 under the Datsun nameplate with the most recognizable of such cars being the 240Z. In 1981, the Nissan name was introduced on cars imported to the U.S. Currently, Nissan has a full lineup of vehicles ranging from the economical Nissan Versa to the sporty 350Z up to the full-size Armada SUV. In 2007, Nissan teamed up with Toyota to introduce the Altima hybrid in certain markets. The Nissan persistent use of continuously variable transmissions (CVT) further improves the fuel efficiency of the Nissan smaller cars and crossovers.
