The 2009 Suzuki Equator is Suzuki's first attempt at breaking into the competitive mid-size pickup truck market. Though the idea of a real-deal Suzuki pickup is new, the design of the Equator is not. The vehicle is nearly identical to the 2009 Nissan Frontier, save for some restyled exterior accents and available features. Under the hood, the Equator benefits from a capable V6 that earns high marks in both on- and off-road driving conditions. Extended and crew cab models are both available. With a base price of about $17,000 and an above-average warranty package, the 2009 Suzuki Equator stacks up to be a good inaugural truck entry for the Suzuki nameplate.
