With a hybrid model in its near future, the 2009 Ford Fusion still has the daunting task of going head-to-head with the Accord and Camry. The Fusion was such a hit with consumers that Ford is redesigning many of its other car lines to have similar design cues including similarly styled headlamps and the three-bar grille. One of Ford’s most successful cars in recent years, the Fusion is helping to fuel Ford’s comeback after a lazy decade that saw sales drop significantly. Updates for 2008 included the addition of standard safety features as well. The Ford Fusion comes with a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty and gets an estimated 25-29 mpg on the highway.
