The Ford F-Series pickup truck dates back to 1948. The twelfth generation of the F-Series was launched in 2008 amid one of the slowest truck sales years in recent history. The new design boasts better aerodynamics and more efficient engine options, which in will eventually include the first use of a light-duty diesel. While it won’t be close to the Super Duty’s Power Stroke output, the diesel F-150 will be one of the most fleet-friendly trucks on the market. The F-Series is available in more than 60 possible configurations. The Ford F-150 comes with a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty and gets an estimated 17-20 mpg on the highway.
