Dodge introduced the Caliber hatchback in 2006 to replace the Neon. The unique design of the Caliber allows it to haul as much cargo as a compact crossover, but attain better fuel economy. To increase efficiency, all Calibers are fitted with either a constantly variable automatic transmission (CVT) or manual transmission. For the performance crowd, the Caliber SRT4 puts out 285 horsepower, while the Caliber R/T fills out the top-end trim. The Dodge Caliber comes with a lifetime powertrain warranty and gets an estimated 24-29 mpg on the highway; the performance-tuned Caliber SRT4 averages 27 mpg on the highway.
