2009 Audi TTS Overview
The new 2009 Audi TTS is the top model in the 2009 Audi TT lineup. A quick look under the hood of the non-standard TTS will reveal the Audi S tronic dual-clutch transmission. This revolutionary system offers a plethora of pluses in the areas of driver comfort, convenience, and ride. Available in coupe and roadster styles, the TTS also features new-design bi-xenon headlights, the front grille has been transformed from chrome to gray, and the doorsills have been widened. Inside, the high-performance TTS deletes the iPod interface option and replaces it with an auxiliary audio input jack. Also new for the TTS is Quattro all-wheel – available for the first time on the 2.0T S tronic trim.
The 2009 Audi TTS is a top choice for drivers looking for a 2 2 coupe or a two-seat roadster that offers a combination of comfort, amusement, and Audi’s classic yet cutting-edge design.
2009 Audi TTS Performance
The 2009 Audi TTS is the total package offering a balanced combination of sports performance, ride-comfort, and luxury. The TTS features a 2.0-liter I4 engine that generates 265-horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The base model TTS comes with a six-speed manual transmission. While the S tronic transmission is optional, with a top speed of 155 mph and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 60 in 5.2 seconds (coupe), the S tronic is highly recommended. With the S tronic, drivers can operate TTS like a typical, hassle-free automatic, or shift via the console shifter or the steering-wheel paddles. No matter how you shift, the S tronic box maintains drive even during gear change. The TTS roadster has a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of 5.4 seconds with the same top speed of 155 mph.
The Audi TTS also features the Audi Space Frame (ASF). Made from laser-welded, lightweight aluminum steel, the ASF results in high torsional rigidity, lighter weight, better load distribution, improved acceleration, and enhanced safety. Equivalent steel frames weigh 48% more than the Audi Space Frame. The Audi TTS dual circuit brake system, suspension (which offers a 10 millimeter lowered chassis), and the updated steering system further enhance Audi TTS performance and safety.
2009 Audi TTS Body and Interior
Standard exterior and exterior 2009 Audi TTS design features run the gamut from sculpted air vents, new bi-xenon headlamps, and a stainless steel gas cap to designer clutch pedals, aluminum cup holders, and shift lever knob. Inside, luxury features such as Silk Nappa leather, Baseball Optic leather, and a
leather wrapped, three-spoke steering wheel abound. Passengers will also find comfort in Audi’s optional heated seats, interior LED lighting package, and 10-way power front driver seat and passenger seat. Other interior features include: front sport seats, enhanced S interior, and an auto-dimming interior mirror.
In addition, the 2009 Audi TTS exterior features a sporty and aerodynamics-enhancing automatic retractable rear spoiler that automatically extends at 75 mph and retracts at 50 mph, S performance exhaust with quad exhaust pipes, S performance mirrors with power adjustment and heating, and several wheel options. Wheel options include the 18” five-parallel-spoke S design cast aluminum alloy; 19” five-parallel-spoke star design cast aluminum alloy; and 19” seven-twin-spoke design cast aluminum alloy.
2009 Audi TTS Safety
From airbags to side intrusion protection, the 2009 Audi TTS safety features leave no stone unturned. Seat-mounted chest side and knee airbags are full-sized dual threshold on both the driver and front passenger sides. Combined with the three-point inertia-reel belt tensioners and force limit seatbelts, the airbags offer more than enough protection in the event of a collision. The rigid bodyshell, Audi Hill hold assist, LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children), ESP (Electronic Stabilization Program consisting of four safety systems – anti-lock brake system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), electronic differential lock (EDL) and traction control (ASR)) and the anti-theft alarm system round out the 2009 Audi TTS safety features package to help keep you and your car safe.
2009 Audi TTS Options
The number of technology and audio options available will overwhelm new 2009 Audi TTS owners. The 2009 Audi TTS features Audi Concert (AM/FM stereo with single-disc CD player Radio Data System (RDS) and Graduated Audio Level Adjustment (GALA)), Audi Navigation System Plus with six-disc CD changer, BOSE sound system with AudioPilot, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, cruise control, Bluetooth, Audi Park System, and driver information with lap timer.
