Introduced for the 2008 model year, the A3 line gives Audi an entry-level hatchback to complement the A4. Although Audi has produced an A3 in Europe since the 1990s, this marks the first time Audi will offer a small hatchback in the U.S. Similar to Audi’s unique naming of its station wagon models as Avant, the A3 is referred to as a Sportback and provides the flexibility of a hatchback in a small, exciting package. Under the small Audi’s hood are two powerful, yet efficient, engines and the availability of Audi’s quattro® full-time all-wheel drive system. The Audi A3 comes with a four-year/50,000-mile warranty and gets an estimated 25-29 mpg on the highway.
