The Isuzu Ascender gets a new trim for 2008. The LUX is the best-equipped model, adding a taller axle ratio, a higher GVWR, upgraded exterior treatments, leather seating, adjustable pedals, a Bose audio system, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. All Ascenders now include side-impact air bags and the 4.2L V6 has been tweaked to deliver better fuel economy and reduced emissions. Horsepower has dropped from 291 to 285, while torque is reduced by 1 lb-ft to 276 lb-ft. Two-tone exterior colors have changed as well. |

Value: |

The 2008 Isuzu Ascender should be considered a bargain midsize SUV. Based on the Chevrolet TrailBlazer and other GM midsize SUV offerings, the Ascender offers a cavernous 80.1 cubit feet of cargo space. Its 5,800 pound towing capacity ranks near the top of the class, as does its seven-year/75,000-mile powertrain warranty. |
