The 2008 GMC Envoy is a traditional body-on-frame SUV, which makes it attractive to buyers in the market for a mid-sized SUV with towing and off-road capability. The standard 4.2L six-cylinder engine is very capable, and a 5.3L V8 with active fuel management adds extra horsepower while being mindful of fuel economy. |

Overview: |
|
The 2008 GMC Envoy seemingly provides something for everyone. All trim levels provide a comfortable ride for five passengers, good towing capability, and ample cargo space.
There are four trim levels available SLE1, SLE2, SLT and the Denali. The SLE1, SLE2, and SLT trim levels come standard with a 4.2L inline six-cylinder engine that makes a healthy 285 horsepower 6000 rpm and 276 ft-lbs of torque at 4800 rpm.
Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, power windows and locks, OnStar, cruise control, dual-zone manual climate control, a CD player with XM satellite radio, and StabiliTrak stability control system.
The SLE2 trim adds features such as a roof-mounted luggage rack, heated exterior mirrors, a power driver seat with lumbar, a universal home remote, and an automatically dimming rearview mirror with a compass and outside temperature display.
The SLT trim adds features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, headlamp washers, leather appointed seat trim, front heated power seats with driver seat memory, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, steering wheel mounted audio controls, Bose speaker system and a theft deterrent system.
For those looking for more power and loads of luxury in a mid-sized SUV, the Denali comes standard with a 5.3L V8 engine. It makes 300 horsepower at 5300 rpm and 321 ft-lbs of torque at 4000 rpm. The 5.3L V8 sports an active fuel management feature that deactivates four of the eight cylinders and propels the vehicle on just four cylinders in instances where extra power is not needed. The transition from eight to four cylinders and back is virtually undetectable and helps boost fuel economy.
The Denali trim also adds features such as a rear locking differential, Denali-specific 18-inch alloy wheels, unique front and rear fascias, assist steps, and power adjustable pedals. |
