Dodge Sprinter Wagon Review
By Autotropolis Editors

Strengths:
Huge family van; comfortable ride.

Changes:
For 2008, the Dodge Sprinter remains largely unchanged. A rear auxiliary heater is available in packages and heavy duty rear air conditioning is also optional, while 12-passenger seating is now standard. For safety, front seat side impact body air bags are available.

Value:
The 2008 Dodge Sprinter continues to offer versatility to those who need to transport both goods and people. It can be configured to accommodate anywhere from nine to twelve passengers, and a high roof option adds lots of headroom or cargo space. On the road, the Sprinter drives like it is much smaller than it is. When properly equipped, the Sprinter can tow approximately 8,000 pounds.

Overview:
The 2008 Sprinter continues to be Dodge's entry in the full-size passenger van market. Both a short-wheelbase (144 inches) and long-wheelbase (170 inches) version can be ordered, and both models can be configured to seat nine to twelve people. The standard 3.0L diesel V6 engine produces a lot of low-end torque and should be less expensive to run then the gasoline engine. In addition, a more powerful 3.5L V6 gas engine is available. Both engines are paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Standard equipment includes tow hooks, a full-size spare tire, a tool kit, front and rear mud flaps, heated power mirrors, rear hinged doors, keyless entry, and automatic temperature control. A bewildering array of options is available, including xenon headlights with washers, auxiliary heating and cooling, a six-disc CD changer, and 16-inch aluminum wheels. The optional High Roof adds extra headroom and cargo space.
