Small cars labeled “five-door subcompacts” seem to be popping up from just about every manufacturer. Not to be outdone by the likes of Nissan, Toyota or Chevrolet, Honda introduced the Fit to compete in this growing segment. The Fit was originally released in foreign markets in 2001, but the U.S. had to wait until the beginning of 2006 for a version of the spacious subcompact. With arguably better looks than the Scion xA and more power than the Chevrolet Aveo, the Honda Fit is one of the most popular cars in its segment. The Honda Fit comes with a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty and gets an estimated 20 mpg on the highway.
