Although the Mitsubishi brand didn't sell a car in the United States until 1982, the company had been producing cars for the U.S. (rebranded as Chrysler vehicles) since 1971. Building off the success of the Eclipse, Mitsubishi redesigned the Outlander and Lancer. The latest Lancer showcases the Mitsubishi design capabilities with an edgy, aggressive design. In recent years, Mitsubishi has become a more balanced manufacturer offering three models of cars, two SUVs and even a pickup truck (a rebadged Dodge Dakota). The highly acclaimed Lancer Evolution features a 291-horsepower, turbocharged engine and continues to use all-wheel drive.
